He went into the darkness to hide. He woke up with a vision of the future.

John is a man trying to outrun his past. After climbing into a shipyard in a drunken blackout, he wakes up trapped on a vessel heading into the unknown. Suffering through the hell of withdrawal in the pitch black, he isn't sure if he is dying or losing his mind.

But the ship holds more than just darkness. Inside a strange room filled with alchemical instruments, John meets "The Captain"-an enigmatic figure who guides him through a shattering, out-of-body experience.

When John wakes up in hospital, the ship is gone, but the effects remain. He is haunted by lucid, terrifying dreams that are beginning to bleed into reality. With nowhere left to turn, he embarks on a drifting journey south, sleeping in tents and walking the roads.

He is being pulled toward a violent destiny: a "man in white", a ruthless attack by men with machetes, and a mysterious woman waiting at the end of the road.

Driven by premonitions he can't explain, John must decide if he is a madman or a saviour.
