Clippers

Imagine a world where even the most crippling pain can be minimised. Both chronic and acute pain almost brandished a thing of the past. With just a small 'Clip' in the base of the brain, scientists can use Transcranial Suppression to manipulate those 'damaging' neural transmissions.

Clippers is the first of a three-part novel where the scientists have become the Government and the manipulation has become control. The clips have been developed to ensure their infiltration into areas of our lives where free will can be exercised. Starting with the 'management of altered thought processes' in mental health and addiction facilities through to their eventual mandatory use in the military, prisons, workplaces and eventually schools.

The world has become calmer, and more ordered, but at what price? Do the societal benefits of clips outweigh the fundamental rights that they appear to be seizing? Once adopted is there any way back?

And can love, the strongest emotion of them all, be the very thing that frees us?

One can only imagine how this plays out.
