But the other crows laugh at him, and Charlie goes on an adventure to find others like him. He meets many other birds, who all sound and look different... This is a gentle exploration of accepting difference for young and old alike. Recommended for ages 2 and up.

Bonus Sensory Section!

Bonus! This book includes a sensory section for children with severe/profound and/or multiple learning disabilities. Every page has an audio/video accompaniment, AAC symbols, sensory suggestions (easily sourced items that can be touched, or smelt or heard, expanding the experience of the story and introducing sensory stimuli in a safe way). It also includes cut-outs so images can be isolated for our CVI friends. Inclusion is important, and we hope this brings much joy to your children.

Nonketotic Hyperglycinemia is a rare and terminal metabolic disorder. It's hard to explain what NKH is like, as a parent. To watch your baby have countless seizures, miss every milestone and live an incredibly medicalised life. The pain and suffering are heartbreaking. The fear and grief can be overwhelming. But, we have hope in a cure.

Because NKH is so rare (less than 40 children in the UK, less than 500 worldwide) there is little to no awareness. There is little to no funding for research. So we, as parents fund what can. Through local fundraisers, and events and raffles. And children's books.

This book supports Team Mikaere and Joseph's Goal - a charity for children with NKH. All proceeds go to NKH Research.
