CAPTIVE is the true story of United States Marine Corps veteran Aliya Fitz El.

At nineteen, Aliya raised her right hand and swore an oath to serve her country. She believed in honor, discipline, and the brotherhood of the Marine Corps. Within months of arriving at her first duty station, that belief would be shattered.

While stationed at MCAS Cherry Point, Aliya experienced sexual violence, retaliation, and institutional abuse that culminated in wrongful confinement and the loss of her military career. Instead of protection, she encountered a system more concerned with silence than justice.

CAPTIVE is not only a memoir of survival. It is a testimony of faith, resilience, and the courage required to reclaim one's voice after being erased by institutions of power.
