Brokenly Bold

Putting yourself in someone else's shoes isn't always a clever idea. Even if you really want to see through their eyes sometimes it is just as well you avoid them all together.

I live in a small town in Arkansas. It is a town that is way off the beaten path. It is so far out there that "off the map" doesn't even cover it. No one really comes through except for lost travelers and truck drivers. Few outsiders are really allowed to stay too long. We like our privacy. People don't travel to small towns for vacations, so tourists aren't an issue. Everyone knows everyone and everything about that person's person. Who they saw, where they were, and what they were eating for dinner that night.

Blue Eye is just a normal small town with the birds chirping and the sun shining. The kids roam free in the town because we have no crimes. The whole town looks out for everybody. We seldom drive cars around because everything is walking distance from your house. We never spread out into the county to live because we used that space to roam. We are a quiet town. Blue Eye is perfect.

But like all places Blue Eye and its residents had a secret to hide...and those secrets will either bury me or make me stronger.
