broke.

Carlos Tyrone is pissed. More specifically, he's pissed with his live-in girlfriend/baby-mama, Lola, who has become ungrateful, unloving and increasingly irritable. Frustrated, the newspaper columnist pens a string of works that spark a grass-roots movement against patronizing women: it's called The Broke Brothers' Revolution. Carlos enlists friends Gent, Oscar and Daniel to his cause. And that's when the fun begins! The Revolutionaries boycott ladies' nights; encourage men to sue dates to recoup money from expensive outings; and protest male-bashing in the media. But their antics eventually give way to huge revelations about the men's lives, including? DRAMA. Lots and lots of drama!

But are these men broke - guys without money, or are they broken - and need "fixing?" And if that is the case, can these broken men be restored? With broke., J. Shawn Durham has crafted a wildly funny, absorbing and even poignant look into the lives of four black Everymen. But for all its machismo, broke. has wit, charm and heart, as the novel captures men's thoughts on love... on sex... on work... on absolutely EVERYTHING. If you want to know how some men think, broke. is the book for you!

So will these men find their way or will they fail miserably? Go for broke. and see!
