But then, after discovering a matter-altering Philosopher's Stone inside a Nubian tomb, Deirdre suddenly becomes a genie-like superhero calling herself Modima. Now seen as Freedom City's "new warrior", Deirdre and her magical alter-ego reluctantly join forces with her rival sister to find evidence against their parents' killer who just happens to be running for president. After a series of supernatural events, Deirdre finally discovers her true identity as Earth's new Maintainer.
"Black Magic: The Rise of Modima" is a personal homage to the classic superheroes of early television with its campy blend of action-adventure, fantasy, dramedy, and horror. In contrast to the dark. hardcore superheroes in today's films, Modima is a modern day throwback for people of all ages to enjoy.
