Bennett's Bench, a novel of true love unconstrained

For KT Mayer and Daisy Hanigan, the bench in Bennett Park had become a romantic refuge, where their occasional liaisons never went too far or grew too intense. But after her young son suffers a terrible accident that leaves him in a permanent vegetive state, Daisy and KT abandon the bench and inevitably each other.

Years later, KT, strung out, alone, and at his wit's end on how to change the miserable course of his life, stumbles upon a duffle bag discarded in an apparent drug deal gone wrong, but for KT the bag is nothing short of a miracle, for inside he finds enough cash and prescription opioids to go on the epic, final, drug-fueled run of his dreams - one where he can finally go until "the wheels come off!"

Meanwhile, Daisy, devastated from a recent act of self-hatred and exhausted after years of singlehandedly caring for and keeping vigil over her ailing son, abruptly leaves him in the hands of her estranged ex-husband to flee headlong into the arms of the city and an impossible dream of her own.

But when KT and Daisy unexpectedly cross paths, their desperate plans of escape are thwarted, for this time around they are no longer safe in the arms of Bennett's bench, and unless they find the strength to confront their love, it could destroy them both.
