Michael Phelps is one of history's greatest Olympic champions and may be the greatest swimmer of all time. "Beneath the Surface" is his story in his own words. In this candid memoir, Michael Phelps relives the glory of the 2004 Olympics and his record-breaking eight gold medals in 2008. Completely up to date, this book covers the 2012 Olympic games as well, where Phelps expects to win four more gold medals. He also, openly and honestly, chronicles his journey from awkward teen to media-savvy superstar. Phelps writes about his battle with attention deficit disorder, the trauma of his parents' divorce, and challenges that come with being thrust into the limelight. Athletes and fans alike will be fascinated by insights into Phelps' training and mental preparation. Without a doubt, this is a must-read for any sports fan.
