Bir otel odasina siginmis, disari adim atmaya cesaret edemeyen bir adam. Penceresinin ardinda lapa lapa yagan kar ona zaman kazandirsa da ne gecmisi ne de gelecegi dusunmek istiyor; her ikisinde de ona rahat yok. Kapida ise er ya da gec yuzlesmek zorunda kalacagi, zorlu bir hesaplasma onu bekliyor.

Cocuklugunun Merter'deki Palmiye Apartmani'nan basik atmosferinden baslayarak, onu reklam ajanslariyla rodeo oyununa, oradan da Kadir Vakfi'nin karmasik dunyasina surukleyen bir oyku. Aile, komsular, ticaret, hayatin gunluk talepleri ve bunlarin karsisina konmus eylemsizlik ve suruklenme uzerine kurulu bir varolus... Reklamci Erdinc "yavan topragin tatsiz bir meyvesi" oldugunu fark edeli beri "mucizeyi beklemeye" baslamisti. A man taking refuge in a hotel room, not daring to step outside. Although the heavy snowfall outside the window buys him some time, he wants to think about neither the past nor the future; there is no peace for him in either. At the door, a difficult confrontation awaits that he will eventually have to face.

What was it that dragged Erdinc Senol to this room?

A story that starts from the suffocating atmosphere of the Palmiye Apartment in Merter during his childhood, leads him through a rodeo game with advertising agencies, and into the complex world of the Kadir Foundation. An existence built on family, neighbors, trade, the daily demands of life, and the inertia and drift placed against them... Ever since Erdinc the advertiser realized he was a "tasteless fruit of a bland soil," he had begun "waiting for the miracle". Is this not the easiest way to accept everything as it is and hope to live on without doing anything?

Until his easy-going life drags him into a dark, dangerous partnership reaching the war fronts of Syria, and then into the white, deadly silence of Erciyes...

Başka Yerde (Elsewhere) is a humor-blended story of drifting in today's world, falling into strange events, and the search for salvation. The story of the protagonist Erdinc, which seems surreal at first glance, invites us to reflect on the realities of Turkey's recent history and present as its mysteries come to light.
