Jon Bolt is a private investigator living in a 37-foot Holiday Rambler RV at Dockweiler Beach in Los Angeles. He's hired by California Senator Nancy Goldstein after her chief of staff, Elsa Krieger, embezzles twelve million dollars from campaign funds. The case becomes complicated when Senator Goldstein's daughter, Tricia, is caught up with Russian mobsters connected to crime boss Chesnokov.

Bolt's investigation reveals Elsa is involved with Chesnokov's organization and a mysterious woman named Zarina who operates from the shadows. As he tracks the stolen money through LA's criminal underworld, Bolt makes a critical mistake-he becomes romantically involved with Elsa, his primary target. This lapse in judgment nearly compromises his mission.

The investigation takes him from Malibu estates to the Kabbalah Center in West Hollywood, from Russian mob territories to storage facilities in Van Nuys. Bolt employs surveillance equipment, GPS trackers, and the help of his associate Maggie, a stoner ex-cop with exceptional investigative skills.

The case culminates in a storage unit on Oxnard Street where Bolt discovers the hidden cache of stolen funds. He recovers the money and delivers eight million to Senator Goldstein (keeping his one-third commission), also ensuring Tricia's safety.

The novel ends with Bolt transformed-harder, colder, more pragmatic. No longer the man who hesitated or felt guilt, he's become what the job demanded. Bolt accepts a new case, ready to continue operating in the gray areas between right and wrong. The title "Attractive Nuisance" reflects both Elsa's dangerous allure and the seductive power of dirty money in corrupting those who chase it.
