"Astraphobia by R.U. Randy is an immersive murder mystery that leaves readers enthralled by the story before they even know it. Kat McNally is a private investigator who moonlights as an instructor at a Taekwondo studio. An Army veteran, CID agent, an ex-military police officer, Kat is more than capable of protecting a room full of people. Although young, Kat is asked to help the local police with finding a deranged killer. This is proving to be more difficult than the police anticipated, which was why they brought Kat in. However, nothing could have prepared Kat for the chase, the deceit, and the depravity of the case that awaited her attention.

The author is absolutely right. It is a classic murder mystery but with modern twists that will leave readers scrambling to guess what will happen next. The story is fantastic, intricate, and so tightly woven that readers will not find even one little detail out of place. Some of the descriptions can be a little too graphic for some readers, but I think it comes with the genre. The race against time and Kat's determination to get to the bottom of the case and figure out who the killer is before it is too late is superlative. I found Kat's character to be genuine, and all of the credit goes to R. U. Randy's incredible story writing skills. The chapters are on the short side, the pace is fast, and I love how the dialogues feel more like a character's development process than anything else. The ending is phenomenal. The descriptions are vivid, the pacing is just right, and the character development is fantastic!"
