Ashes of Nightshade

The night she lost everything, the gods stayed silent.

It is impossible for a demon to wield fire magic, so Kai has been hidden very well. She was used to seclusion but never felt so alone as the night she stood in front the smoldering remains of her childhood home, her family still inside, as she screamed at gods who never answer.

Hoping to find anonymity in the crowd, Kai flees to the city only to uncover a mysterious order watching her every move and calling her the child of the long forgotten god of the demons, a god Kai doesn't even believe in.

Out of options, Kai turns to the thieves guild for protection, a group of vagrants led by a cut-throat demon and her ruthless second-in-command, Xander Joren. Without a doubt, Kai can't trust him. Despite how often his gaze lands on her, the male seems hell bent on keeping her out of the guild if not pushing her out of the city entirely.

With a mismatched found family, Kai will learn the truth about her past and forge her own path forward, but when everyone is hiding something, it's nearly impossible to know who to trust.

Ashes of Nightshade is a dark epic fantasy with enemies to lovers, fated mates, slow burn romance, found family, gods vs mortals stakes, and morally gray characters.
