Architects

This book is about my journey to New Zealand, which initially begun with work and study purposes. The Master course could not be completed because of an emotional family tragedy. Chapter by chapter different life spans and aspects are going to be displayed, which influence the being of the Architect. First comes the personal life and two different Master Thesis proposals: before and after the Christchurch Earth Quake. The Lunatec Asylum part is about the relationship with the institution, the government officials and care-takers in the departments, the financial, economic and emotional arguments within. Unresolved issues follows the private home retreat. In Voyage to Sea a cultural and geographic aspect of the shipman craft in NZ is shown. It is a memory of the author about the man who has brought her near to the book writing, reading, collecting, swooping, selling and enjoying; which is a housewife occupation of teachers and academics. But this is not enough in regards to the brutal pressures and expectations placed upon her. The passion for the Arts & Architecture demands greater challenges. Dieses Buch ist über die Neuseelandreise, welche zuerst mit einer wissenschaftlichen und professionellen Arbeit begann. Diese konnte nicht vollendet werden, da es zu einem emotionalen und familiären Tumult führte. Kapitelweise werden verschiedene Aspekte und Einflüsse auf den Werdegang der Architektin erläutert. Im Vordergrund steht auf der persönlichen Ebene die wissenschaftliche Arbeit und dazu zwei Entwürfe zur der Master-Thesis: vor und nach dem Erdbeben in Christchurch. Im Lunatec Asylum-Abschnitt wird auf die Beziehung zur zuständigen institutionellen Behörde eingegangen, wirtschaftliche und emotionale Auseinandersetzungen. Daraufhin folgt der familiäre Rückzug ins Private. In Voyage to Sea wird ein geographischer und kultureller Aspekt der Seefahrt in NZ gezeigt. Es ist eine Erinnerung der Autorin an den Mann, der ihr das Bücherschreiben, Lesen, Sammeln, Tauschen, Schenken und Verkaufen näher gebracht hat, als eine liebliche Hausfrauenbeschäftigung von gelehrten Akademikern. Doch es scheint nicht Genüge zu tun, hinsichtlich der brutalen Anforderungen und Erwartungshaltungen. Die Architektur-Leidenschaft fordert hohe Herausforderungen.
