Analgesic Winter

Cassian Adler is a solitary meteorologist manning the winter shift at the Boreas Peak Observatory, a heavily fortified concrete bunker chained to a remote mountain summit. Outside, a lethal Category 5 blizzard rages with 180 mph hurricane-force winds and minus 40-degree temperatures. Stepping outside means instant death.

But the true storm begins in the dead of night when a bloodied, freezing man arrives at the bunker's reinforced steel door. Knowing he cannot freeze, the prisoner intentionally sabotages the bunker's heating and shatters the main observation window, turning the enclosed space into a deadly, freezing wind-tunnel of flying debris. Cornered in the pitch-black server closet by an unstoppable killer, Cassian realizes he cannot win a physical fight against a man who feels no pain. To survive the lethal cold and the painless assassin, Cassian must make a brutal, desperate move involving a 4,000-degree military-grade magnesium flare. It's a fiery gamble that will push his morality to the absolute edge, forcing him to embrace a macabre survival tactic to make it through the longest, coldest night of his life.
