Adventure Now

Adventure Now is both a travel narrative and a story of profound personal transformation. It follows the journey of Larry Kelley, an Irish American who worked himself to the brink of exhaustion pursuing the American Dream-until that dream nearly cost him his life.

In 1959, determined to save both his life and his soul, Larry set out on a journey through Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, and Haiti. Filled with humor, scandalous encounters, spiritual revelations, addiction, heartbreak, and unexpected moments of grace, these pages chronicle not only the places he visited and the people he met, but also the inner journey that transformed him forever.

More than a memoir of travel, Adventure Now challenges readers to confront the cages of comfort that keep them from fully living. It is an invitation to risk connection, to face your deepest fears, and to discover that what you fear most may hold the keys to freedom, love, and a deeper experience of living.

Like the finest travel narratives, this is a story rooted in a particular place and time that ultimately transcends both. It is an invitation to adventure-now.
