Second in the Tilda and Jem mysteries
For a man just starting out in his profession, being asked by a famous architect to create all the woodwork for a rich man's garden room is a dream come true, but is it too good to be entirely above board?
When Jem is shown the plans for the building, he identifies some anomalies, and fears that something untoward is going on. Concerned that his colleague may be suspected of being complicit, Jem enlists Tilda to help him track down other joiners and carvers who have worked for the same architect. They are dismayed to discover a pattern that suggests criminal intent.
It is not until someone is killed to protect the secret in the plans that Jem and Tilda realise that they may be involved in something beyond the scope of the puzzle they were trying to solve. Suspicion falls on them and their loved ones; can they avoid prison while bringing the real criminals to justice?
