Zhixin

This book is compiled based on the author's expedition records and various unearthed artifacts from the Tarim Basin between 1928 and 1929. The content of the book is divided into two major parts: the expedition narrative and artifact descriptions. The expedition narrative details the discovery of several ancient towns, temples, canals, and garrison ruins around the Tarim Basin, providing valuable clues for studying the political and economic relations between the Han and Tang dynasties and the Western Regions. It also includes several maps and diagrams for reference. The artifact descriptions are categorized into sections such as paintings, clay sculptures, ceramic molds, woodcarvings, textiles, inscriptions, coins, and copper, stone, and ceramic objects. Each category is described in terms of its nature and purpose, accompanied by 120 illustrations. This section provides new materials for studying the interactive influence between Chinese and Western cultures.
