Bracken House looks like an ordinary apartment building on an ordinary street in Norchester. It is not. Behind its doors live people with jobs, families, plans, responsibilities, relatives, neighbours, unfinished arguments, unexpected opportunities, and very different ideas about when helping becomes interfering. Judith Keane is retired from education but has not entirely retired from organising people. Naveed Ansari can fix almost anything except the number of things he has agreed to fix. Celia Brock is trying to build an event-planning business in a world where suppliers, clients, venues, and reality rarely follow the same schedule. Sandra Reed spends her working life dealing with genuine emergencies, which gives her a particular perspective on everybody else's. Around them are students, parents, professionals, children, former partners, colleagues, customers, friends, and relatives whose lives keep overlapping in ways nobody planned. A parcel left with the wrong neighbour can become a trip across town. A career question can turn into paid work. A family decision can become a discussion about boundaries. We All Live Here is the first part of The Building, an ensemble comedy about neighbours whose lives expand far beyond the building they share into workplaces, schools, businesses, families, friendships, relationships, and all the ordinary complications that become much less ordinary when other people get involved. Warm, character-driven, and built around sharp dialogue and everyday misunderstandings, the series follows people who are mostly competent, generally well-meaning, and repeatedly reminded that living near other human beings is a collaborative project nobody remembers agreeing to.
