Solitude

Daniel was living an unfulfilled life. He thought that by being a police officer, he would bedoing his civic duty and bringing good to the world"e;"e;but the last accident he witnessed hadshattered that belief. All he saw was darkness"e;"e;the worse in people. Where was the kindness and the love? He felt he needed a break and to get far away from this darkness. After a talk with his chief, hedecided to go on a road trip. It was on that trip he found a remote property for sale, a wonderfulplace beside a lake, just like he had envisioned. It was peaceful and quiet"e;"e;what solitude!Daniel would have to make a decision. Moving would mean leaving his loving family"e;"e;his twinsister and father"e;"e;leaving the police force, and changing his life completely. Is that what he reallywanted to do? Would this place give him the peace he was seeking? Would he be able to survive allby himself with no one else around him?When he returned to work, the darkness hit Daniel again, and he knew he could no longerwork as a police officer. It was then he decided to purchase the property and make the move. Now his life was completely changed. No longer could he go for coffee at Tim's or to a fastfood place for a quick meal. He found his life was full of new challenges to overcome, a lot of workto do just to survive day-by-day, and new concepts to learn. It all depended on him. Did he have itin himself to survive? Would he find what he was seeking? Would he find the peace he craved?
