Piece By Piece: Confidence and Identity, Rebuilt One Reflection at a Time

Someone asks where you want to eat and you hear yourself say you don't mind. You reach for the phone to text a friend first, the way you used to, and put it down instead. You catch your reflection and notice you take up less room than you remember. Breakups don't take one big piece of you. They take dozens, so quietly you don't notice until you count. This book is a lost-and-found box. Each short reflection holds one piece that went missing — your decisiveness, your opinions, the habit of texting first, your ease in your own body — and helps you name it on a Found List: a record of what's coming back, what was only quiet, and what you're building new. You'll find the room where you never learned to shrink, borrow an old friend's memory as evidence, and make peace with what isn't coming back. The pieces won't fit the same way twice. They aren't supposed to. Wholeness isn't restoration — it's the shape you choose from the pieces you have.
