In contemporary international society, the ethical distinction between China's kingly way politics and the Western hegemonic politics is all too evident. China's kingly way politics originated from the profound discrimination between the kingly way and hegemonic rule strategies during the Spring and Autumn and Warring States periods, ultimately establishing a national governance model combining kingliness and hegemony, with Confucianism in the open and legalism in the shadows, during the transition from the Qin to Han dynasties. This model profoundly shaped the trajectory of subsequent Chinese politics. In the West, the successive rise of ancient Greece and the Roman Empire laid the historical foundation for European and American hegemonic politics. Based on the above analysis, this book conducts an in-depth ethical comparative study of the humanistic and geographical environments, main causes, and essential characteristics that gave rise to traditional Chinese kingly way politics and Western hegemonic politics. It also succinctly summarizes the imperial logic supporting modern Western hegemonic politics and the inevitability of its historical demise, as well as the ethical rules of kingly way politics that should be followed in the process of shaping a multipolar world. Finally, the book points out that a sufficiently strong Chinese kingly way politics can stand tall amidst the competition with Western hegemonic politics, thereby providing strong support for the future construction of a community with a shared future for mankind.
