This book is one of the masterpieces of the famous philosopher and educationalist John Dewey.In January 1925, Sun Fuyuan presided over the "e;Beijing Newspaper Supplement"e; issued a solicitation for revelations, inviting famous scholars at home and abroad to recommend "e;ten books that young people must read"e;. Many scholars responded. This book was included in the list of recommended books by scholars such as Hu Shi, Pan Jiaxun, Li Xiaofeng, Shao Yuanchong, Yang Simu, Luo Dehui, and Xu Angruo. This book explores the nature of human thinking. Using a large number of examples from daily life, the author elaborates on the different processes we go through when we engage in thinking. There are three parts in the book: the first part, "e;Problems of Thinking Training"e;, explains what thinking is and the importance of thinking training; the second part, "e;Exploration of Logic"e;, discusses logical conceptual judgment, reasoning, figurative and abstract thinking, and empirical and scientific thinking; the third part, "e;Methods of Thinking"e;, discusses how to think about the nature of human thinking; the third part, "e;Thinking"e;, discusses how to think about the nature of human thinking. The third part, "e;Training for Thinking,"e; discusses how to utilize children's curiosity and imagination in activities, language, observation, and classroom teaching to cultivate their scientific thinking methods. This book helps us to understand the characteristics of thinking and apply scientific training methods to improve our thinking ability, and it also helps teachers to improve the quality of teaching according to the developmental process of thinking.
