Hollow Love

Zhou Sujie, a writer born in the 1990s, presents her first collection of short stories, featuring eight works published since 2015. Six of these were originally released on the "e;ONEA*a a "e; app, edited by Han Han. The stage play Soft-Hearted Dad, adapted from the stories Soft-Hearted Dad and The Mystery of a Woman's Death, was invited to participate in the 2021 Shanghai Jing'an Modern Theater Valley. It has also been adapted into a film script, with production scheduled to begin in 2023. These short stories explore realist themes such as family of origin, gender relations, and social class, attempting to dissect the spiritual dilemmas of contemporary individuals while dialectically delving into the multidimensional complexities of human nature.The author's perspective is sharp, her narrative restrained, and her language raw. She excels particularly in satire, capturing the unspeakable yet ubiquitous emotions of everyday life.
