First Witch

A thousand years ago, Aurelle, the First Witch, was burned alive by the first king of Caldrenmoor and the priests who would become the Order of the Ashen Sun. As the flames rose, she cursed the moon to bleed on the night of her return. Now the Blood Moon is coming.Ysolde Farrow is a red-haired healer in a marsh village who has never believed in magic, until a dead flower blooms in her hands and the Order burns her home to the ground. Morwen Vael is the most feared woman in the capital: the only witch the Crown allows to live, wearing a silver collar that burns her if she uses magic without the king's permission. Her only companion is Corvane, a raven who has been at her side since childhood. When Morwen's crystal shows her a vision of a red-haired girl surrounded by fire, she is sent to hunt Ysolde down. What she finds instead is a sister she never knew she had, taken from their mother as a child. Together they are the last heirs of the First Witch's bloodline, and they discover that the legend everyone believes is a lie.Across three seasons, the sisters move from strangers to allies, then to rulers, enemies and rivals for the same crown. Kings will fall, a holy war will split the kingdom, and a raven will whisper in the dark. When the Blood Moon finally rises, one sister must decide whether to save the world or save the other. And the First Witch is closer than anyone imagined.
