In class and on the campus he vigorously opposed all who described themselves as believers, and he especially delighted in confronting those who had chosen religion as a profession. He had heard all of the arguments in favor of faith, and the truth of the Bible, and found them wanting. Yet this man came to spend his life as a Bible-believing Christian clergyman! Langguth spent forty-three years in pastoring eight Methodist churches, until he was forced by his age and the illness of his wife to accept retirement. He holds a lifetime credential to teach Zoological Sciences and Anthropology in the community colleges of California, and a Master of Divinity Degree (cum laude) from the Pacific School of Religion.
