Everyone has a story-a life lived with turning points and adversity. Follow one woman's story as she grapples with a diverse series of challenges and moments of victory. Kathy's story begins in childhood; a series of lessons she learned and carried with her throughout her life as a caregiver. Her first major career began at the nursing home she worked at as a teenager. From there, her life revolved around two international adoption journeys, dealing with her aging parents as an only child, and taking care of two husbands who both died far too young. Throughout difficult and unusual circumstances, Kathy held fast to hope and to the happiness she was able to nurture with the loved ones around her. Adversity will happen. It's how you deal with it that determines the quality of your life.
