I have no desire to marry for the sake of the crown. So when my father arranged a betrothal, I begged him to allow me to choose a bride instead. He agreed under his conditions. I don't believe in love at first sight, but on our last day in the Big Apple, I saw her behind the glass window. She was dancing gracefully, and my breath caught in my throat.
