This book is the memoirs of a man whose life to this point has been truly fulfilled .It is a story about how providence and hard work can allow you to achieve your God - given goals if if you have been told you can't. From the coal fields of West Virginia where family values were instilled to a renowned career in his chosen field of Surgery the book is unbelievable story of twists and turns of exciting events. There are mountain top highs and devastating lows. Included are near death moments ,struggles, accomplishments, and life experiences that can only be considered miraculous. His passions that have driven him are evident throughout the manuscript . those passions include the love of family ,surgery, patients , patriotism, medical missions, love of adventure , and hopefully a testimony of his Christian faith. The journey takes through his life. It describes the childhood and teenage years where a sense of independence was developed . The years of college and his marriage with all the twists and turns that got him into medical school and obtain a surgical residency are unique. The training years molded his surgical talents. Though he loved them and they were filled with fantastic learning experiences they took their toll in other ways .Serving in the Army as a surgeon at three Evacuation brought changes that will never be forgotten. A miracle of Biblical proportions is a result of that Vietnam tour. The humbling respect he received from being privileged to be a surgeon in a small town of good God fearing people for years is expressed. The patients in the book are a part of the legacy. Thirty years of the opportunity to lead surgical mission teams to Haiti and the Dominican Republic were a major passion. The adventure, excitement and evidence of God's control are evident. A change in focus brought art and surgery together with his involvement in Cosmetic Surgery .After obtaining training and becoming board certified his rise to leadership brought him many accolades. his national and international role as an educator is evidence of his expertise. His avocation of equestrian sports and Foxhunting is exemplified. A part of his story includes the love of his pets , his dogs who were and are family .Lastly it is a love story of a man and woman who have truly loved and supported each other for decades.
