Islamic unity was achieved during the time of Saladin al-Ayyubi, thanks to the efforts of his predecessors that benefited him, and what he and his family contributed to building this unity, and thanks to his awareness of the spiritual power of the caliphate in achieving his goal. Added to this is the means he sought to win supporters through the fiefdoms he made, the pardoning of his opponents' mistakes, and the adherence to the rulings of religion in his politics, in addition to the generosity and chivalry he was known for. However, Saladin did not underestimate the danger of his Crusaders opponents. Rather, he realized that to overcome them, it was necessary to gather the word of the Muslims, organize the army and fleet, provide financial resources, and carry out comprehensive economic and administrative reforms. Saladin benefited from his experiences in fighting the Crusaders, and from the various political currents that affected the situation of the Crusaders, and in revealing the factors of their weakness.
