A Study of German National Language Competence

The book consists of six chapters. The first chapter systematically comprehends the concept of national language competence and related researches at home and abroad; the second chapter reviews the history of the construction of national language competence in Germany before the 21st century; the third to fifth chapters examine the construction of three types of sub-competencies of national language competence in contemporary Germany--national language governance competence, core competence of the national language, and national language strategic competence, and summarizes their development characteristics; Chapter 6 compares the national language competence construction in China and Germany on this basis, and tries to draw on the German experience to put forward relevant suggestions for the further enhancement of China's national language competence.
